About the project
Hard Facts
Customized Models
Models were created in-house as needed and perfected in coordination with the customer.
Individual adjustments
Licensed models were adjusted based on the customer's wishes, both the textures and in terms of the model itself.
Simple reusability
By exporting on a transparent background with separation of shadow and object itself, the final images can be easily reused.
Unified Look
Through the generalized light and the same camera angle, the individual images can be freely combined.
The Client
The association "Die NÖ Umweltverbände" represents the umbrella organization of the NÖ waste management. Together with the state of Lower Austria and the members, consisting of 22 waste management associations and the 3 statutory cities, "Die NÖ Umweltverbände" are responsible for waste management and its further development. In addition to the implementation of regulatory changes, the umbrella association initiates and coordinates statewide projects that are based on the three levels of the waste hierarchy: waste prevention, reuse, and recycling. The aim of this foundation was to consolidate forces in waste management, to leverage synergies between regions, and to ensure a uniform, efficient, and sustainable waste disposal throughout the entire federal state.

About
"Die NÖ Umweltverbände" came to us with a request to complete an already started image catalog. First renderings were already available, but more images were missing. Different types of waste should be depicted - from glass and paper to old vegetables. This is intended to create a versatile image collection that complements the catalog and makes it flexible for use.
The Idea
The Implementation
Preparation
At the beginning of the project, the search for suitable models was crucial. All options that were considered as potential candidates were collected, examined, and then presented to the client. This allowed them to get a good idea of the various possibilities and decide specifically which models were suitable for them.
If no model meeting the requirements was found during the research phase, the models were created from scratch. For everything that was already available in good quality in the market, we used licensed models. This accelerated the work process, and we could offer the client the largest possible selection.

Adjustment
The selected models had to be individually adjusted to meet the customer's requirements precisely. Standard models are often not sufficient for this purpose - they appear too neutral or general. Therefore, each model was intentionally modified and adapted to achieve the desired effect.
Protractors were deliberately broken, pens intentionally damaged, or food processed to appear spoiled. These modifications made the models realistic and ensured that they conveyed the desired message, to be clearly recognizable as waste.
Export
After the models were finished, great emphasis was placed on easy reusability. For this purpose, the renderings were exported on a transparent background. This makes it possible to use them directly in different layouts or media without any additional editing effort.
To make the editing even more flexible, we exported models and shadows separately. This allowed the customer to decide whether the shadows should be used or not. At the same time, it was easier to adjust individual elements in post-production or to combine them in new ways. This division significantly simplified the later work and opened up a lot of room for various applications.
