1 image for a whole system
A mobile shows how a child's illness throws the whole family off balance.
Without a word
Light, colour and facial expressions tell the story – understandable for everyone.
1 June 2026
Premiere on Children's Hospice and Palliative Care Day.
Produced pro bono
Our contribution to an association funded entirely by donations.
Sterntalerhof
Sterntalerhof in Burgenland is Austria's first – and to this day, in this form, only – children's hospice. It supports families with a seriously ill child from the diagnosis of a life-limiting illness through to and beyond death.
The association is funded entirely by donations. There is no marketing budget – communication happens with partners and companies who contribute.
The client
Hospice doesn't just mean farewell
Many people associate the word hospice with dying. Children's hospices, however, care for the whole family – often over many years.
Sick children are not small sick adults, neither medically nor psychosocially. When a child falls seriously ill, the entire family system is affected. Sterntalerhof has to explain this difference again and again. The goal was an image that makes it clear in seconds.
The starting point
The solution
For Children's Hospice and Palliative Care Day 2026, we developed the spot „Nicht allein“ (Not alone) pro bono.
01 · The family as a mobile
A felt mobile hangs above a child's bed: father, mother, brother and sister, with sun, clouds and stars. A mobile only works in balance – if one figure moves, they all move.
That is exactly how a serious illness affects a family. This one image explains what would otherwise take Sterntalerhof many words.

02 · When the balance tips
The light in the room turns cold, the figures' faces grow serious. Without a word, the spot shows what the diagnosis does to everyone – not just the sick child.

03 · A star brings light
A star – Sterntalerhof's symbol – sends light into the room. The stars on the mobile begin to glow and the family finds its balance again.
This makes Sterntalerhof's role visible: stabilising the whole family, not just the sick child.
04 · Warm, not heavy
Knitted clothes, felt textures, soft light: the 3D animation is deliberately warm and tactile. It takes the topic seriously without being overwhelming – and stays caring down to the last detail.

The result
The spot premiered on Children's Hospice Day on 1 June 2026 and has since been running on Sterntalerhof's website and social media.
Affected families have told Sterntalerhof how well the film captures their situation. In communication with supporters it is a new building block: it raises awareness, builds understanding and can encourage people to support Sterntalerhof.
Our takeaway: difficult topics in particular need simple images. A good image explains in seconds what would otherwise take paragraphs.
