Print vs. Digital

Digitization does not replace print - it makes it more targeted, resource-efficient, and smarter.

Print is still a large and important part of a brand's communication. With high-quality printed products, you give your target audience a physically tangible piece of your brand. By using high-quality paper, special finishes, or a unique format, you create an experience that cannot be replicated digitally, conveying appreciation and quality.

Get creative and stay memorable. With a unique design that sets you apart, you attract attention and stay in the memory of your customers. Not every customer group can be reached through digital means. Whether through mailings, flyers, or a printed catalog, your brand remains present for a longer time, is physically handled, and has a high recall value. Furthermore, you differentiate yourself from the competition and emphasize the character of your brand.

Whether it's a magazine, brochure, or catalog - physical print products are perceived by people as more serious and credible, and they feel more tangible and less fleeting than their digital counterpart.

Therefore, it can be said: Digitization does not replace print but shapes it more targeted, resource-efficient, and smarter.

Digital Prepress & Proofing

Prepress is an essential part of print production that contributes to sustainability. As the name suggests, this phase occurs before printing. The design of printed materials is finalized in this step, colors are checked, and final print data is created. In the past, physical test prints were used to verify color accuracy before actual printing. This process involved high material and resource consumption due to the production of small quantities. With digitalization, a resource-efficient alternative was developed: soft proofing. Soft proofing involves working with properly calibrated monitors and standardized color profiles to verify color accuracy.

Digital prepress enables more efficient, resource-efficient, and error-free work. It saves both material and energy, as well as time, by integrating automated processes.

Combination of Print and Digital

Print or Digital? Our answer: One does not have to exclude the other!

By combining print and digital content, your print product not only serves the function of "informing" but also that of "interacting." By using QR codes and NFC chips, you can link your physical prints to additional digital content, interactive offers such as an online shop, or videos. The digital extension significantly increases the utility value of the print product, as well as its relevance and lifespan.

Optimized Production of Products and Environmentally Friendly Materials

To avoid overpressure, there is the Print on Demand system - a print product is only printed when it is actually needed or ordered. This not only avoids overproduction, but also saves storage space.

If you also want to focus on environmental friendliness in the materials used, you can pay attention to the following:

Recycled Paper

Papers made from recycled paper or paper fibers consume less energy. The process of converting wood fibers into paper is very energy-intensive and releases pollutants that burden the environment. With certain certifications, you ensure that the paper used for your print products has been environmentally friendly produced and meets a certain quality standard.

Climate-Neutral Printing

The production of print products emits CO2 and is therefore a burden on our climate. This can be counteracted with climate-neutral printing - the amount of emitted CO2 emissions is offset through certified climate protection programs. For each print job, the respective contribution to a project is calculated and added as a small additional cost - this way, the generated CO2 amount is offset and something is given back to the environment.

Recyclable Materials

Paper is a material with high recycling value. The paper fibers can be reused ten to 25 times. Therefore, it is advisable to use paper for single use, for example in packaging. These are designed to protect the product during transport. After unpacking, the packaging is usually no longer used and is disposed of. Proper disposal and waste separation are also important here so that the materials can be recycled and reused.

Print design is still relevant in the digital age and plays an important role in brand communication. With digital processes and digital prepress, both materials and resources are conserved, avoiding large amounts of waste and proof prints. Digital enhancements increase the utility value of printed materials and also enhance their relevance and lifespan. Therefore, combining print and digital solutions smartly creates efficient and environmentally conscious work practices and also enhances the effectiveness of communication measures.
